Volunteers Needed for Clean Boats Clean Waters
Sand Lake property owners, we need your help!
Our lake association must complete a minimum of 150 volunteer hours for the Clean Boats Clean Waters (CBCW) program this summer to meet the requirements of our grant funding.
Volunteering is easy! We're asking property owners to sign up for just a 2-hour shift at the boat launch on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Volunteers are provided with a simple step-by-step guide and handout that walks you through the process. Your role is simply to greet boaters and ask a few brief questions as they enter and leave the lake to help prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species.
Reminder, our grant funding pays for many important lake protection initiatives, including:
-Clean Boats Clean Waters staffing
-Lake management and shoreline plans
-Eurasian watermilfoil and other invasive species treatment
-Buoys and navigation markers
-Lake surveys and monitoring
-Professional lake consultants
-And other efforts that help keep Sand Lake healthy and enjoyable for everyone
Protecting our lake is a shared responsibility, and this is one of the easiest and most effective ways to contribute. If every property owner volunteers for a single 2-hour shift, we can easily meet our goal and continue receiving funding that benefits the entire lake community.
Please consider signing up today and helping us keep Sand Lake healthy for future generations.
